
Baptist Training Union
- The BTU will provide both serving and training to our church family. We will lift and equip SBC saints with a solid understanding of who we are as believers and as Baptist. We will equip SBC saints with the skills
necessary to work for Christ through his local church.
We will instruct SBC saints in Baptist
church doctrine, history, polity, & practice.
Lastly we will oversee the teaching ministries of SBC with eyes of encouragement and equipment.
Bible Study Ministry
Adult Bible Study - Pastor Van C. Williams is leading us through the bible this year.
Youth Bible Study
- Our Youth Minister, Kevin D. Sanders, lead our Youth Bible studies.
Brotherhood Ministry
- Provides fellowship and service opportunities for the men of SBC in the community; both socially and spiritually. We meet on the first and
last Saturdays of each month. Deacon J.D. Livingston is our leader.

Bus Ministry
- We run our buses every Sunday morning
and at other engagements or fellowships.
We run our buses during major state
and federal elections. Our bus ministry includes an 11 passenger-handicap accessible van and a 16 passenger van. It is a tremendous blessing to our church to
see all the boys and girls that are able to come to Sunday School and to church each week due to a vibrant bus ministry.
Church Leadership Council - This is a ministry in which all leaders come together to plan and organze activities
and direction of the ministies of the church. Bro. James Layden provides leadership
to this ministry.
Christian Education Ministry
- Provides oversite to our Sunday
School & New Member Orientation Ministries.
Bro. Frank Frierson serves as our current director.

- The Culinary Ministry prepares and serves food for all major church functions and maintains the kitchen facility. Sis. Mildred Williams & Sis. Joyce Jordan shares the leadership of our Culinary Ministry.

Health Ministry
- Our Health Ministry serves the congregation by emphasizing maintaining a healthy body and living style. The Health
Ministry provides periodic health screening programs that
check blood pressure, cholesterol, and vision. The Health Ministry also provides an Annual Community
Health Fair during the summer months inviting many of the local health care
providers to join us on the grounds of SBC
and surrounding churches. They are also on call
on Sundays should the need arises. Sis. Diane
Bow, a professional nurse, leads this ministry.

Marital Ministry - Minister Charlie M. Carter, Jr.
Media Ministry - This combined team of individuals led by Sis. Anita Miller provides video and audio recording support for our church services and select functions. In
2009, family of the late Louise Horne donated funds to help install our new video system of 3 remote cameras, 3 projectors, 3 large screens & an a/v booth.
Audio
- With a state-of-the-art recording system, we
are capable of recording any service held throughout the church property. Bro. Patrick Jackson leads a team of qualified individuals who work diligently
to capture the audio services making tapes available for the saints and friends of SBC.
Video
- Sis. Cynthia Bouvay leads a team of dedicated servants who work diligently to capture the video services, making videos available for the saints and friends of SBC. Editing and Duplication are
also accomplished as well as a live stream & telecast produced of our Sunday morning worship services. Our
video telecast is aired every Thursday, from 5pm to 6pm on CTN channel 17 in Ann Arbor, MI. We are expanding our telecast to other areas.
Mission Ministry
- Our Missionary Ministry extend the arms of the church "beyond these walls"
into areas that can not be reached or addressed during the regular worship services.
Our Missionary Ministry provides outreach services
to area Nursing Homes through the (Missionary Outreach Service
Teams, M.O.S.T. It is through Circles that the Missionary membership is organized and operates. Sis. Odessa Smith provides wonderful
led the Missionary Ministry for many years now.

Nurses Guild Ministry
- The Nurses Guild provide aid to distressed members during worship services working conjointly with licensed nurses of our Health Ministry, for Sunday services. The Nurses Guild also prepares and supplies refreshments for the pastor. The Nurses Guild wears a white nurses uniform and they serve at all services in which
our pastor is called to preach. Our Nurses Guild Ministry leader is
Sis. Anna Drake.

Ministry - Operating under the Baptist Training Union, Second's Tutorial Education Program (STEP) serves our children who need extra help with homework.
STEP meets on Wednesdays 5:30pm - 6:45pm during the school season. Our laeader, Sis. Reba Jackson, provides seasoned leadership.
Stewardship Ministry - Deacon George Wilson
The Learning Center - An enlarged Learning Center provides a vital task of education
for our congregation. Through the use of seven fully functional
computer systems, we offer hands of classes in keyboarding,
Office Applications, Computer, and Internet basics.
Together We Build Ministry
- Our church is sure to be blessed
by the enlargement of educational space.
Every third
Sunday is our Sunday to Shine! We want each saint
to consider a sacrificial gift to the campaign as we see to raise $300,000.00 over the next few years. When the pastor calls we are going to be ready to answer! To this end, among others,
the Together We Build Financial Ministry is underway!

Women's Ministry - The Women's Ministry is a first class bible-based ministry meeting the concerns and issues uniquely situated
to women. Seminars, outings, and gatherings recognizing each others connection as sisters in the Lord are highlighted. This ministry has formulated a mime group of
sisters who use their talents to praise God for His blessings to the ministry. Women's Ministry works together
with other ministries
of the church (The Mission, Sunday School, Deacons Wives, Nurses Guild, Health,
and Women's Day to provide a successful and vibrant ministry that uplifts, encourages and invigorates sisters for worship, study, life and witnessing. Our very own First Lady of Second, Sis. Michelle Williams, leads The Women of Second in this
great ministry.
Youth
Ministry - Our Youth Ministry provides services for tots to teens. They are taught the Word of God, in a manner
that is challenging, thought-provoking, and exciting. Our youth are afforded an opportunity to speak on topics that are relative to their daily lives. Our youth are encouraged
to participate in community activities on-going, and to bring in outside guest. Helping our youth and keeping their interest in serving God creates an atmosphere of fun through Bible study, drill team, praise dancers and
mime groups.

- Recreational Evangelism and Life Program - This ministry will provide an
opportunity for Christian fellowship in a physical fitness atmosphere.
